About Us

The King's Church was founded in 2014 in response to the Lord’s call to Mark Weeden to plant a church in Arundel.

The church stands in the tradition of the historic Christian faith, which for two thousand years has worshipped God through the mediatorial role of Jesus Christ, and by the agency of the Holy Spirit.

We meet on Sundays at 10:30am at the Victoria Institute - everyone is welcome.

Doctrinal Statement

There is only one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. While the Trinity is a concept that takes time to prove, it can be done so clearly and satisfactorily for those wishing to study the Scriptures.

Jesus Christ is the unique, or only begotten Son of God, and only Saviour of mankind. John 3:16; 14:6; Acts 4:12; Titus 2:13-14

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant word of God, and sole authority for all matters of faith and morals in the Church. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21

The universal fallenness of mankind, whereby all are spiritually dead (i.e. separated from God) because of their sinfulness, and thus in need of the “new birth,” as stated by Jesus Christ. John 3:3-8

Man is made in the image of God, and therefore every life is of inherent value, from the baby in the womb, to the final breath of the aged.

Marriage was ordained from the beginning by God, as a hallowed union between a man and a woman, and for the bringing up of children. Genesis 2:24-25; Ephesians 5:31

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, whereby a merciful God forgives sinners through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus’ death on the cross. John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9

The Great Commission is the central purpose of the Church, as ordained by Jesus Christ, and therefore since the beginning Christianity has been reaching out to the world with the Good News. Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16; Luke: 24:47; John 17:18

The eternal state – all human beings will live on beyond the grave, either in heaven for the regenerate, those who have saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; or in hell for the unbeliever. Matthew 25:46; Hebrews 9:27

The Holy Spirit – given by the Father and the Son as necessary in regeneration, for the empowering of the Church in witness, and whose gifts are given for the equipping of the saints.

The Sacraments – there are two sacraments: believer’s baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper as a memorial of, and spiritual communion with, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Church –  Invisibly, the universal Church, or elect, is made up of all believers through time, and expressed in local assemblies where the Gospel is proclaimed, for the purpose of Worship, Witness and Works of service.

Visibly, the local congregation of believers, in which we are encouraged to meet together. Matthew 18:20: Hebrews 10:25

The Return of Jesus Christ – the Bible promises that Jesus will return again in glory, when every eye shall see Him. Matthew 24:30; 25:31; Acts 1:11; Revelation 22:12

Also, at King’s we understand that the Bible clearly teaches gratitude for, and to the Jewish people, as the sovereign choice of God, the recipients of the promises of salvation and the Scriptures, and the bearers of the Saviour – Jesus the Jew – who still need the saving Gospel. Romans 11:1-2, 28-29
